ESU/NATIONAL SHAKESPEARE COMPETITION

Each spring, in collaboration with the New Orleans Chapter of the International English Speaking Union, the Festival hosts the New Orleans Region National Shakespeare Competition

This local level competition is open to students from the New Orleans region in grades 9 – 12. The winner of this preliminary event will go on to compete at the National Shakespeare Competition in New York City, with an all expense paid trip. The winner of that final competition is given a scholarship to attend the summer program at The British Academy of Dramatic Art.

To participate, a school must conduct its own competition to select a winner to compete in the event at Tulane. The process is easy and the rewards great.

For more information about the New Orleans region level competition, or to register your school (required for participation) contact SFT Managing Director Clare Moncrief by e-mail at cmoncri@tulane.edu or by phone at (504) 314-7752.
