Marty Sachs
Artistic Director
Marty Sachs has designed lighting at such theatres as the Fredericksburg Theatre Company, the Dallas Theater Company, the New Orleans Opera Association, the American Southwest Theatre Company, Tulane Summer Lyric, Le Petit Théâtre de Vieux Carré, and the Contemporary Arts Center. He is the recipient of four Gambit Magazine’s Big Easy Entertainment Awards for Best Lighting Design. He is also a member of United Scenic Artists (lighting design). He currently serves as Chairman for Tulane’s Department of Theatre & Dance and received his BA in Theatre from Grinnell College and his MFA is Design/Technical Production from Florida State University.
Clare Moncrief
Managing Director
Clare Moncrief, MA has been an active member of the New Orleans theatre community for over 25 years. Clare has been seen as Lady Macbeth in Macbeth, Queen Elizabeth in Richard III, Cleopatra in Antony & Cleopatra, Gertrude in Hamlet, Duchess of York in Richard II, Maggie in With Malice Towards All, Mistress Overdone in Measure for Measure, and Jessie in A House Not Meant to Stand; all with SFT. She is in her ninth year as Managing Director and is also a member of the adjunct faculty in Tulane’s Department of Theatre and Dance.
Chaney Tullos
Education Coordinator & Production Stage Manager
In support of the Festival’s mission to bring quality and dynamic theatre to students in the community, Chaney works directly with teachers and students in New Orleans in a number of ways. Specifically, as an Adjunct Faculty Member at Tulane, he teaches Shakespeare on the Road in which Tulane students create a play about Shakespeare’s life and works and then tour it to local schools free of charge. As an actor he has been a resident company member at Virginia Stage Company, The Colorado Shakespeare Festival, The American Shakespeare Center and Swine Palace. In 2009 he had the honor of being one of the first actors to perform live for the newly inaugurated President Obama at the reopening of Ford’s Theatre in Washington, DC. As a stage manager Chaney has worked locally with Southern Rep, The Contemporary Arts Center, Swine Palace, BRCC, LSU and is in his 3rd season with SFT. He holds an MFA in Acting from LSU and is a proud member of Actors’ Equity Association as well as SAG-AFTRA.
